AIA Happy Hour [CANCELLED]

When: 8/11/2021 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM In May and June of this year, the AIA Charlotte Board of Directors began planning for a gradual return to in person member events based on the guidance of National, State and County health guidelines and steadily decreasing infection rates.  Unfortunately, the Delta Variant and human behavior have partnered to turn the tide yet again and we are in the midst of an intensive national surge.


As much as we hate to have to acknowledge it, this development places our strategy for returning to in-person gatherings in a momentary quandary. When considering the health and wellbeing of each attendee, our members in general, and their families, along with the need to adhere to our commitment to being stewards of public health, safety, and welfare; the Board of Directors is postponing the August 11th Social until further notice. Until we are confident that this dramatically more contagious variant is under better control with reduced rates of infection, we will hold off on in person events for larger events and gatherings. Our hope is to get the event back on the calendar as soon as late September or early October potentially with a range of access/capacity stipulations in place.
