Creech & Associates is a mid-sized firm with studios in Charlotte and Charleston.  The firm is seeking a qualified individual to lead the firms space needs/ programming efforts.  The ideal candidate would be a professional that is registered Architect or interior designer or has the ability to be registered. The focus of the firm is in higher education, corporate headquarters, commercial, adaptive/ historic reuse and civic projects. Potential candidates should have 5+ years of experience in similar architectural projects, and strong computer aptitude and technical skills, including the knowledge of Revit, Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office Suite.

Many of our projects have short time frames for production, therefore candidates must be self-motivated, able to succeed in a fast-paced office environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.  This position has overall responsibility of leading our space needs studies that would include meeting with the clients and their user groups to assess the existing needs and projected needs of the next 5/10/20 years.  This position would also need to be able to assist with the design and layout of the interior spaces for projects in the office.  

Key Responsibilities

Help coordinate and guide multiple projects at one time ranging from small to large sized projects of basic to complex scopes.

Manage the schedule for the space need studies.

Coordinate a series of meetings with end users throughout a day to understand the existing conditions.

Facilitate meetings with the clients as well as the consultants of each project.

Create and communicate clear and attainable project objectives and requirements.

Plan, recommend and implement cost-effective strategies for use of facilities.

Contributes to the overall project strategy for optimizing space use.

Analyzing and interpreting physical space data to create a process required by leadership groups and government agencies.

Create project meeting notes and documents for the final report of the studies.

Establishing and implementing "best practice" standards for projecting space utilization and needs.

Ensure projects conform to the contract.

Requirements of the Applicant

  • Professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design
  • 5+ years architectural experience
  • The ability to be registered in North Carolina and/or South Carolina
  • Demonstrated leadership with project teams, including the ability to train other employees
  • Experience with guiding a project through the space needs assessment and programming phases
  • Experience working with other architects to create spaces in a collaborative way
  • Knowledge of building codes
  • Posses skills to assist others with the design and layout of the other studios
  • Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility on past projects
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and poise
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Strong knowledge of Revit, Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office Suite.
