| | | | | YAF Leadership Program Applications are now open for the 2021-2022 program. Application deadline extended to July 23. The core purpose of the program is to support young architects in Charlotte with programming that addresses professional advancement within the profession as well as in the community.
The objective of the YAF Leadership program is two-fold: - First: Identify and develop Young Architects as leaders in the profession. Provide programs that develop their leadership abilities and their confidence to step into leadership positions within their profession, their community and within the AIA leadership structure.
- Second: Connect Young Architects to the civic components in the public sphere. Architects are under-represented on public advisory boards, non-profit and institutional boards, as well as civic leadership in City and County Government. This program would provide the opportunity for Young Architects to be motivated and inspired to pursue leadership opportunities in the public sphere.

| | Join us September 8 for our kickoff event for networking, a brief presentation about the Mentorship Exchange Program. For those of you unfamiliar with the program, it is a mentoring program that is not like the traditional model of one-on-one. The Mentorship Exchange concept incorporates a cross-section of the profession (students, associates, newly licensed professionals, licensed professionals and senior professionals) so it takes all levels to make the program successful.
Each group is customizable to meet the needs of its members. The goal is to provide new experiences and different perspectives for all those involved. The program facilitates a connection between the academic and professional realms of architecture. | | | SAVE THE DATE: ARCHITECTURE MONTH | OCTOBER 2021 | OCTOBER 7 | PEOPLE'S PORCH | OCTOBER 9 | BIKE TOUR | OCTOBER 12 | SKETCHY TUESDAY | OCTOBER 13 | CPCC LIBRARY & STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER TOUR | OCTOBER 21 | FIRM CRAWL WITH RECEPTION | OCTOBER 28 | UNC CHARLOTTE STORRS HALL + LAB TOUR | | Sketchy Tuesday (October 12), Call for Volunteers: Sketchy Tuesday is back!
