In the rush and bustle of urban life, we are so focused on our destinations that we seldom consider the actual journeys we embark on to get from point A to point B. This month's Modernism + Film, explores public transportation from a highly unusual viewpoint, focusing on the little details we so often overlook on our daily commutes: the scritch-scratch of the subway wheels, reflections upon the streetcar glass, or that tiny moment when the bus just begins to speed from rest and the city whirls into motion. Everybody is headed somewhere different, but we are all moving to the same upbeat rhythm of transportation.
Tickets are $8 members, $10 nonmembers, and $5 with valid school I.D. Cash bar available in the Bechtler lobby starting at 6:00 PM followed by the presentation and film screening in the Knight Theater at 7 PM. Purchase tickets online at Bechtler.org or call 704.353.9209.
