SOA Lecture: David Brown | UNC School of Architecture

When: 3/3/2021 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Where:
UNC Charlotte | School of Architecture

The School of Architecture presents a free public lecture by David Brown, professor at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Architecture and artistic director of the 2021 Chicago Architecture Biennial. A Q&A will follow.

A designer, researcher and educator, David Brown seeks to expand access to architecture and design, facilitate dialogue by engaging new voices, and spark conversations about the intersection of design and critical issues such as health, sustainability, equity, and racial justice. His work with Chicago communities on a speculative design project known as The Available City explores the potential of connecting over ten thousand vacant lots in the city of Chicago to create a flexible, improvisational network of community spaces. The Available City will be the theme of the 2021 Chicago Architecture Biennial. Read more about that project and the biennial here.
