starr design , an award-winning design firm based in Charlotte, is looking to hire a full-time design oriented,  Intermediate Architect (licensed or unlicensed).     
We are a multi-disciplinary team that specializes in architecture, interiors, graphics, foodservice consulting and branding primarily for the restaurant industry. Our small firm takes a highly collaborative approach rather than working in silos. Our projects are spread out across the country and around the world. What you’ll do:

  • Work collaboratively with project teams of Architects, Interior Designers, Graphic Designers and foodservice consultants to create environments that connect people with brands including concept design through construction documents and construction administration.  
  • Apply basic knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and owner criteria in creating distinctive design solutions  
  • Assist in putting together full construction documents including coordinating structural, PM&E, lighting, and other engineering consultants  
  • Perform red-line changes and document revisions  
  • Conduct site visits and document conditions/progress during the predesign and construction project phases   
  • Interface with code enforcing agencies and construction officials during the permitting and construction phase of the project  
  • Process submittals, substitution requests, and RFI’s during construction if necessary  
  • Complete projects on time, on budget and with a high-quality standard  

What you’ll need:   
  • Professional or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3-5 years of previous design experience (max. 10 years – this is a  mid-level  position)  
  • Minimum 1 year of Revit experience  
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, Enscape  
  • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills  
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills  
  • Ability to learn quickly and multitask  
  • Curious, fun, team oriented and interested in the creative process as a whole
