Jenkins Peer Architects is a well-established, independently-owned & award winning design firm located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte.  In recognition of firm culture, community impact and design portfolio, Jenkins Peer was awarded the 2021 Firm of the Year by both AIA North Carolina and AIA Charlotte.  Our Firm has an opening for a talented Interior Designer with a minimum of five years' experience.  We seek individuals with a strong and matured design capability interested in sharing their talent with others at JPA.  The Candidate will excel in working with project teams to complete projects in various stages of design.  Project experience with both Public and Private sectors is a plus.  The applicant shall be able to manage all aspects of an interiors project including design collaboration, client relations and management, building codes, consultant coordination, project schedules and job hour management.  Applicant must be proficient with material and color selections as well as FF&E packages and display excellent written and oral communication.  Experience in Revit, Microsoft Suite and Bluebeam is a must.  Designers shall have a degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited school.

Desired Skills and Abilities

  • Strong design sensitivity
  • Min 5 years of diverse commercial, higher education, multifamily or hospitality interior experience
  • Knowledge of the design process, including FF&E, furniture systems and specification, and color and materials
  • Ability to work with and coordinate engineering consulting services
  • Proactive, resourceful self-starter who can multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • REVIT proficient
  • Adobe Suite proficient
