About the Job: Architectural Draftsman

We are looking for a detail-oriented architectural draftsman to join our architectural design team. You will be creating technical drawings for commercial buildings, and other structures from architects' sketches, incorporating exact measurements and codes, and entering data to generate 3-D design models.

To be successful as an architectural draftsman you should possess solid knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software and Revit, and the ability to apply the fundamentals of sketching and design. A top-notch architectural draftsman will be someone whose drafting expertise contributes to structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing architectural designs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Using Autodesk Revit to create drawings that incorporate exact measurements, calculations, building codes, and other construction details.
  • Produce high-quality drawings (Schematic Design thru Construction Documents) using Autodesk Revit. 3-D rendering software knowledge a plus.
  • Analyzing building specifications, codes, and sites.
  • Visiting construction sites to perform measurements and calculate dimensions as needed.
  • Collaborating with architects to ensure adherence to building specifications and industry regulations.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest developments and technologies in architectural design.

Qualifications

  • An associate’s degree or certification program in architectural drafting, or similar.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit. Knowledge in other computer-aided design (CAD) and rendering software a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of building design, specifications, codes, and structural analysis.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, and an attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member to achieve high output levels.
  • Self-directed; high energy level; high degree of personal initiative.
