Little is a nationally recognized as a “Best Firm to Work For” and one of the nation’s most progressive design firms, is seeking a Job Captain/Project Architect with a passion for design and a positive, collaborative work style, for our Marketplace Studio in our Charlotte, NC, Office.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity will be an ambitious, creative Job Captain/ Project Architect who has experience working for retail clients, and is looking to improve the performance of our clients through creative collaboration and breakthrough ideas. 

Responsibilities include:  

  • A variety of project related tasks including: conceptual design interaction, construction document implementation and consultant coordination.

  • Ability to implement complex and prototypical design programs, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;

  • Project code reviews and coordinate permit submissions;

  • Perform site observations, reviews shop drawings and material submittals and other related construction administration tasks; and

  • Ability and willingness to mentor/coach less experienced staff and travel for project related tasks or pursuits.

    Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture from an accredited university.

  • Licensed architect or on track to become a licensed architect.

  • Four to seven years’ experience in commercial retail (or similar) project-types preferred; 

  • Ability to execute complex project types i.e. commercial mixed-use projects;

  • Solid Revit and AutoCAD skills required;

  • Photoshop, Sketch-up, InDesign and/or other graphic platforms skills preferred;

  • A collaborative team player with a positive disposition;

  • Self-motivated, time management skills, a creative thinker, proactive work ethic and independent problem solver, and

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills –people understand your ideas and the way you share them.
