EDUCATION: Mentoring
The AIA Charlotte/ UNC-Charlotte School of Architecture Mentorship Program seeks to provide a forum and a means by which the emerging professional within the field of architecture can engage their peers, other practitioners and a wealth of resources in a successful pursuit of knowledge and experience that fosters both personal and professional growth and discovery of that individual.

Plan and coordinate activities for the Architecture (Week) Awareness


SPECIAL EVENTS: Government Affairs
Monitor, evaluate, and advocate proposed local government actions that may affect the practice of architecture. Plan government affairs programs and conduct events that engage elected official and political leaders.
 

SPECIAL EVENTS: Awards/Exhibits
Assemble and convene jury for Design Awards program. Coordinate presentation of awards. Develop schedule of exhibition of boards around the city during the year.

SPECIAL EVENTS: CANSTRUCTION
Combines the competitive spirit of a design/build competition with a unique way to help feed hungry people. Competing teams, lead by architects showcase their talents by designing sculptures made entirely out of canned foods. At the close of the exhibitions all of the food used in the structure is donated to local food banks for distribution to pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, elderly and day care centers.
