"For Zena—one of only 0.02 percent of female African American architects in the U.S.—the journey toward the design and completion of the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) has been immensely rewarding, both personally and professionally."

AIA Charlotte is excited to join CPCC in welcoming Zena Howard, AIA, LEED AP, for a discussion of the NMAAHC. Ms. Howard worked as Senior Project Manager of NMAAHC alongside Lead Architect, Phil Freelon, AIA and is a managing director at Perkins+Will (Raleigh).

Visit the Perkins+Will website to see her full bio and the video series "In Their Own Words" documenting the stories of the people behind the building's design.

The event is free to AIA members and sponsors, as well as students. Non-members pay $45.
