Join the City of Charlotte Saturday, March 24th for the What Can UDO Summitat UNC Charlotte Center City.

The half-day event will feature keynote speaker Mitchell Silver, FAICP. Mitch Silver was previously the Chief Planning & Development Officer for the City of Raleigh and the President of the American Planning Association. He now serves as the New York City Parks Commissioner and is internationally recognized for his leadership in the planning profession and his contributions to contemporary planning issues.

The summit provides an opportunity to share input related to the Charlotte Place Types and Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), a city-wide effort aimed at updating the policies and regulations that guide growth and development in Charlotte. 

Schedule of Events:

  • 8:30 - 9:00 am - Registration

  • 9:00 am - Opening Session

  • 9:30 am - "Living in Charlotte" Workshop

  • 10:30 am - "Thriving in Charlotte" Workshop

  • 11:40 am - 1:00 pm - Boxed Lunch and Keynote Speaker, Mitch Silver, FAICP

Transportation Options: 

  • Automobile parking is available. Permit information will be emailed to registered guests within one week of the event. A Charlotte B-Cycle Station is located in front of the facility. 

  • The facility is located one block from the 9th Street Station on the LYNX Blue Line Extension (expected to open March 16th) and five blocks from the Charlotte Transportation Center (Brevard Street between E. 4th and Trade Street). 

Childcare is available for children under the age of 17. If you would like to register for childcare, please email charlotteudo@charlottenc.gov with your name and the child(rens) names and ages.
